Board of Directors
Workforce Connection is one of Florida's 24 local, business-led nonprofit regional workforce boards and part of a network of 600 workforce boards nationwide. To ensure that workforce programs and services focus on business needs, the majority of Workforce Connection Board members represent the private sector. Other board members represent labor and community-based organizations, education, economic development and state agencies.
The Board sets policy and directs expenditures of approximately $10 million in funds annually that underwrite services to an average of 1,600 businesses and 36,000 job seekers each year.
Except for the Youth Committee, which is chaired by a representative from education, all of Workforce Connection's operational committees are chaired by private-sector members. These committees are Business and Economic Development, Marketing and Outreach, One Stop Customer Services, and Performance and Monitoring.
Workforce Connection's Board Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer, as well as the Immediate Past-Chair and chairs of the operational committees, serve on the board's Executive Committee. The Audit Committee serves as a subcommittee of the Executive Committee and is chaired by the Treasurer.
Board meetings are open to the public and are held quarterly. Public comment will be solicited prior to the Board taking action on its consent agenda and any other matter which requires board approval. Agendas and meeting materials are posted here. For all upcoming meetings and events, see Board Calendar.
